EcoFlow RIVER 3 UPS Frequently Asked Questions:
What is the EcoFlow RIVER 3 UPS?
The EcoFlow RIVER 3 UPS is a compact portable power station with a 245Wh LiFePO₄ battery and 300W rated AC output, designed for portable power and backup applications.
How much power can the RIVER 3 supply?
Its rated AC output is 300W, while X-Boost can support compatible loads up to 600W. X-Boost should not be interpreted as the unit continuously delivering 600W to every appliance.
Does the EcoFlow RIVER 3 have a UPS function?
Yes. The RIVER 3 UPS version is designed to provide automatic backup during power interruptions. EcoFlow’s regional specifications list UPS switching as low as 10ms for the RIVER 3 UPS.
Can I use it with a Wi-Fi router?
Yes. A Wi-Fi router is a typical low-power application for the RIVER 3 and can benefit from its UPS functionality.
Can it power a laptop?
Yes. The 300W AC output is more than sufficient for many laptop chargers, while the 100W USB-C PD output can directly charge compatible USB-C laptops.
Can it power Starlink?
It can power compatible Starlink equipment provided the total power requirement stays within the RIVER 3’s output capabilities. Actual runtime will depend on the Starlink hardware and operating conditions.
Can I charge it with solar panels?
Yes. The RIVER 3 supports solar input up to 110W with an 11–30V input range.
How long does the battery last?
Runtime depends on the connected load. Lower-power devices can operate for substantially longer than high-power devices.
What type of battery does it use?
It uses LiFePO₄ (LFP) battery chemistry, with EcoFlow specifying approximately 3,000 cycles before reaching 80% capacity under its stated test conditions.
Is the RIVER 3 noisy?
EcoFlow specifies operation below 30dB under its stated testing conditions.
Can it replace a generator?
It can provide a quieter, portable alternative for suitable low- and medium-power loads, but its 300W rated output means it is not a replacement for a high-output petrol or diesel generator.
